I had an old fridge that I thought was pretty ok until it finally broke down. Got this new Frigidaire and was immediately in love with the simple, expansive layout. It is way more space efficient than my older one and that makes it easier to access the things I need a lot. Functioning is quiet too. Only quibble is that the thing that's supposed to make the door automatically close really doesn't work on the freezer in my case - it holds the door open so I have to make extra sure to push it closed.

This fridge met all my expectations for quality, design and performance. One small "nit", the instructions to reverse the hinges so the door opens from the right side, could be clearer. Otherwise, I'm a very happy customer.

In comparison to our failed (24 year old) Maytag (Whirlpool owned) this is a downgrade. Both were/are basic units in the 18-20 cu.ft. series. _x000D_ The newer Frigidaire (Whirlpool owned) claims to have more volume but it's hard to find. The interior components' quality has gone down as well as basic functionality. _x000D_ We find the refrigerator LED light to be more effective and better placed than the incandescent in our old unit. BUT: no light in the freezer section, very disappointing._x000D_ Noise level of this newer Frigidaire is higher, a real disappointment too.
