I chose this range top because of the reputation of reliability with Electrolux products. It is a beautiful rangetop that looks great in my new kitchen. Plus, I Iove that it came with a griddle. I purchased new Rachel Ray pots to use with my new rangetop. I had it installed 1 month ago and have already come across 2 issues. The first time I used it I noticed the cast iron grates had tiny white scratches on them. I was extra careful and just simply placed the pot on the grate. I use a soft microfiber cloth with warm water and some dish soap to clean when needed. I couldn't believe that there wouldn't be some time of protective coating to prevent scratches from simple use. Not to mention the grates are super heavy and removing them to clean around the pilot is not easy because you have to be careful where you place them down._x000D_ Second, I noticed on the front stainless-steel ledge of the rangetop, under the lip of the grate it was starting to discolor like a burn mark on the stainless steel. Again, I used this only a few times when I noticed these issues. I called customer support and unfortunately, they were no help. I requested a tech come out to see what occurred or I could send pictures because this had to be a defect of the product. They informed me that it was considered cosmetic damage and would not warrant a technician to come out. Additionally, the warranty covers if something doesn't work, not cosmetic damage. They didn't seem to understand that simply turning the pilot on and placing a pot on the grate should not cause scratching and burn marks. I am worried about what this rangetop will look like after 6 months or 1 year of use. _x000D_ Considering the amount of money spent on this, I am disappointed in its durability and Electrolux's response to the problems.

Ok so we upgraded to this cooktop when building our house. I have used it for a month. Getting it to light up is a tall task. It’s extremely finicky. I usually get it to light after 3-4 tries. I have used gas cooktops my entire life. I have never had a more finicky starter system. Grates are awful . They are already getting discolored and leaving marks on my pots. Grates are also so very heavy that I almost need two people to help me lift them and Clean. A very disappointing design and product for so much money.

As others have stated, I have a similar issue with the front stainless - just below the grates discoloring (turning brown/yellow) with heat. This looks terrible and is extremely disappointing. Also, I have been waiting 4+ months for parts for the rear left-most burner thermocouple failure after only 2 months of use. Very frustrating.

I agree with another reviewer in that at the very back of the 6 burner gas cooktop where the vent is, is completely unreachable for cleaning. After only 3 lousy months, there is a bunch of krud back there with no access to wipe the mess up except maybe with long handled Q-Tips and a whole lot of them. It is inevitable that grease and/or other stuff will spatter and land back there. Clearly a cook is needed on the design team because the unit, as designed and built, clearly lacks appropriate access to areas collecting a massive amount of foodage. Where is common sense? ALSO, you cannot get a low simmer point; the big flame is too much for a simmer and the little inside flame isn't big enough and the two together will not go low enough for a simmer. There is a "burn" area above the front leftmost knob; and no it is not removable with SS cleaner or vinegar to make it "shiny as new". This is the MOST frustrating cooktop I've EVER come across.

Great range top with tons of heating power._x000D_ High quality construction and materials, the included flat-top insert is great and ads to the flexibility of the range top. _x000D_ Lighters are a little bit tricky and sometimes you need to light a couple of times for the burner to stay on. Other than that, I am so far very happy with it.

There is a big vent in the back which quickly gets dirty and dusty if you cook BUT no easy way to clean it!!!! Poor functional design. I miss my Thermador.

Terrible, terribly designed produce and customer service. As mentioned by others, there is no way to clean the grated area on the back. Cleaning the unit would involve the cost of the utility company to turn off the gas, and the cost of a technician to come and remove the unit, disassemble it, clean it, and then reinstall it. This could be required at least every 90 days if you want to maintain a clean kitchen without food and standing debris inside the grill vent. Customer service had no answer but sorry, you bought our (poorly designed) product. Wow,

Love my new range and really like the heat output form the large Gold Burners. Last cooktop was only four burners so I appreciate the extra cooking area.

The Rangetop is great except the covered back of the rangetop is difficult to clean because the cover doesn’t remove easily.
