5 What's Electrolux ?

Purchased to replace a 13 year old Whirlpool Duet washer. We bought the washer at a local appliance store because careful delivery and good service after the sale is important to us. So I steer away from the big box stores with this kind of purchase. Walking in the store the only thing we knew was Whirlpool was out. On going board issues in the Duet dryer giving all kinds of error codes (that according to current online reviews still exist) made that decision. We saw the Electrolux models on display and to be honest were really unfamiliar with the brand as far as washers and dryers go. But we liked what we saw. We left the store and got to researching the reviews. Three things stood out as far as what others called problems; noiser than the one that was replaced, the door hangs and has to be lifted to close it and there is a smell from the door gasket. Our washer had all of them. The pump that empties the drum is noiser than the one in our old washer. However where our washer sits in the house this is a non issue. The door did hang low and needed to be lifted to close. The installer made me aware of that fact (buy at a reputable place) and scheduled a service appointment before leaving our house. Two days later it was in perfect shape. There is a smell from the gasket around the door. It's not a rubber smell, it actually smells good. I equate it to a new car smell that will be gone one day and I'll be wondering where it went. That's it as far a concerns. Now for the good things. There is a recirculating pump that keeps the water flowing from the top of the drum down into the clothes being washed. So even with the lower water levels of the new washers the clothes get thoroughly soaked. Also the spin speeds go from very gentle to stick to the drum dry. While researching I also read that there is no 'spin only' available on this model. While this is true according to the book that comes with the washer one only has to select 'rinse and spin' _x000D_ and deselect rinse under options. It will then just spin your clothes. It's a two step process._x000D_ We are very happy with this purchase. I hoped this review helps. I tried to give the kind of information I seek when looking through online reviews.

5 Great purchase!

I have only had one minor issue and that was with the door latch. The squared ends can cause some impact if the door is not in perfect alignment. Would be better to have a radius to allow the latch to "guide" the door._x000D_ Otherwise, this machine functions incredibly! Easy to use and cleans dirt and stains out that I didn't think would be possible.

5 Best Front Load choice

I looked at almost every front load washing machine choices and Electrolux had the highest reviews from actual customers. I like the how easy it is to use: power on, select type of wash mode, then make various choices on the four vertical menus. It also has a pause button so you can add items.

5 Had to Have Again

Three years ago we moved into a new home. The appliance dealer highly recommended both the washer and dryer. Recently we moved to another state and the house we bought had a perfectly good washer and dryer but I so missed my Electrolux set. That was the first thing we did was to purchase them again. Needless to say, that says enough of why I rate it a five star.

4 4 months use

It has been running well so far. Clean wash, do not use much water, do not have clothes tied together as top-load. I hope it will last long. I hope it has a little pocket to take the dirt out after each wash so it will be easier to maintain. Thank you,

5 Love my Electrolux Washer

Just purchased my second Electrolux washing machine. Electrolux has been more reliable than any other brand I have had and it does a wonderful job cleaning clothes. I have had no problems with any type of smell coming from my front load machine and it is very easy to clean.

4 Works well, weak documentation

There are way more functions than we need but it does work well. It was a little challenging to figure out how to disable the Pure Rinse option as the default because the owner's manual didn't mention this and the tech support person I spoke with said it couldn't be done (not true). I bought an Electrolux washer because years ago I had an Electrolux vacuum because of their winning slogan "Nothing sucks like Electrolux!"
