We installed it about a month ago. While it was a pain to keep it clean, I was happy with its look and the heat it produced. Until...I accidentally dropped a small mason jar on it. To my shock and disbelief, it was NOT the mason jar that shattered, it was THE cooktop! Really? Ceramic cooktop glass is weaker than a mason jar glass? Is this a freak accident or a SERIOUS quality issue? Their manual says that: do not drop HEAVY or HARD objects as the cooktop MAY crack.. Well, they were so wrong! You don't need heavy objects, its enough a small mason jar (I wish I could upload the photo - tried - did not work) and the cooktop will "SHATTER", not crack. Interestingly, I just read another review on this cooktop at the home depot site, where this cooktop cracked after putting a hot pan on it. Frigidaire support bluntly recited their cooktop care instructions, no mention of hot pans though.. This is a new model, and the fact that the ceramic glass used in this cooktop is weaker than a mason jar (my experience) and that it cracks on a contact with a hot pan (home depot review), I think we are uncovering serious issue here...

We did what Ciara above told us to do and contacted Customer Service. We would have to pay $187 for a new glass, wait 7-10 business days to get it, and Frigidaire would install it for free. Given how fragile the thing is (the old cooktop lasted 10 years since we bought the house + however many before, replaced due to faulty heating element), I'm afraid it will end up being a "subscription". Cutting our losses and getting a product from a different manufacturer seems line a much better idea.

This is my first smooth top. So much better than cleaning those drip pans. I clean my stove in just a few minutes instead of 1/2 hr. Love it!

Bought this cook top through Lowes to replace a failed Kenmore. Top has all the features we want and works fine for our kitchen. The only caveat is that it didn't fit the cutout, guarantee or not, requiring an expensive and messy countertop cut job.

Bought one month ago and although I used the recommend smooth ceramic cooktop cleaner it has a couple deep scratches and several minor scratches. Not happy with the product.

Love this new cooktop, easy to install but I did have to make my cutout larger to fit the base. They have a guarantee for that and will reimburse you up to $100! Cooks evenly and has a quick boil element, I so love that feature. Never had an electric cooktop that cooks as well as gas but now I do. I would of rated it 5 stars if I didn't have to modify my counter top slightly. It's stylish and modern and reasonably priced.
