My previous Kenmore front loader washer was a trooper, lasting just about 20 years. But this one has features the other did't: larger door opening, inside light, and countdown clock to name a few. And - it's doing a great job washing the clothes!

Just got my first Electrolux and it seems to be very quiet when running and very good at removing the water during the spin cycle. My old washer let a lot of water in the clothes and was pretty noisy. I just hope this one lasts as long as my old one did.

Although the machine washes clothes well, it's a hazard to have in the house because of the toxic off-gassing from the giant rubber-like gasket around the door. We need to get rid of this machine after 12 days of use because in that time the powerful smell of the door gasket pervaded the house and caused severe asthma, gastric distress, and eczema outbreaks. When we raised the issue with Electrolux, we were told that the gasket was treated with something to prevent mold. If that info had been easily available on teh web site, we would not have bought the machine.The Electrolux people said to run a clean tub cycle with chlorine bleach -- another toxic substance -- or vinegar, or clean the gasket with vinegar, or witch hazel, or baking soda. None of that worked. Someone suggested we purchase a replacement gasket and try airing it out to remove the smell before installing it. The replacement part was equally resistant to all efforts to remediate the off-gassing. Yes, mold is bad, but fighting it with some other toxic substance is no solution. Amid the Covid pandemic, many peoples' lungs and immune systems are being compromised. Electrolux and other manufacturers need to refrain from using toxic substances to avoid sickening many more consumers. And CONSUMERS need to dry the gasket and leave the door open. Maybe someone can come up with a hack to keep the door open so that children and pets cannot crawl in and get trapped. We are sympathetic to the challenges, but this is unacceptable. (And have you noticed how many companies are telling us all to contact them via social media to handle issues - in other words, don't bother.)

We need to get rid of this machine after 12 days of use because in that time the powerful smell of the door gasket pervaded the house! When we called customer service, we were told that the gasket was treated with something to prevent mold. If that info had been easily available on the web site, we would not have bought the machine in the first place! Staff made several suggestions, none of which worked. We even purchased a replacement gasket but it had the same problem. This is not the solution to preventing mold and keeping a home clean and healthy.

We bought a new set and they are working well. I like the versatile settings and easy to turn knobs. They are USA made and readily available.
