1 Do not buy this hood

After owning this hood for one year the on/off buttons for the fan started to fall out. Eventually all 3 buttons fell off. I just contacted a service repair company I was referred to by Frigidaire CSR. Since the hood is past the warranty here is the cost quoted by the repair company to get this $269 hood fixed: "The part is $189.11 + $16.17 tax — and that’s not including the service charge ($85) and labor ($30-$60) for a total of approximately $320.28-$350.28." As the service company recommended to me "I should probably just throw it in the trash and not repair." I am better off going out and buying something different. What a big disappointment and let down on product quality!!!!!

5 What a change

We are enjoying having a vent which is vented to the outside. Our only problem is that we have had a problem with gnats coming in through the vent. Anyone else have this problem? How do we solve this? The fan noise takes some getting use to.

2 Clearly An Engineering Defect

We bought this hood, had it professionally installed and are pleased with the performance. However, like so many others that have written reviews, we've suffered the identical problem with the buttons. The notion of having to buy an entire control at $150 - 195 (prices vary from site to site) to rectify an engineering situation that is well documented is pretty humble. Sure would be nice to get a rep who would not only take care of my problem, but others out there with the same issue. Aside from this issue - it's really a very nice unit.

3 Range Hood

Very good hood. Fan and lighting are good. Major drawback is the difficulty in changing the light bulb. Very difficult. We try not to use the light because we don't want the bulb to burn out and have to be changed

2 Looked nice...BUT

The lighting is great. However, our buttons have begun to pop-out. One is stuck on the inside and the other flew across the room like a bullet. Glad it didn't hit anyone or anything! Can't believe that just over a year old the first button suddenly came dislodged. Now I can't find replacement parts. Ugh.

3 Range Hood

Not a smooth finish like the rest of the appliances, still looks "dusty" after cleaning. Buttons function fine but are clunky and very mechanical feeling. Just doesn't look as refined as the rest of their line.
